'Growing Green Thumbs, a month-long school gardening adventure that takes children from the joy of planting seeds to the fulfillment of harvesting fresh produce. Through hands-on activities and guided exploration, students will witness the magic of growth while developing a deeper connection to the environment.

We are looking for volunteers to do following :1. Outreach - enlist art schools or ISD art teachers to have their class/students participate in this activity.2. Enlist artists for judging entries3. Volunteer to store bags for distribution in various parts of DFW.4. Volunteer to coordinate logistics with art teachers and participants5. Sponsor rewards/ awards for winners6. General promotion of the contest in our communities7. Identifying experts for a yet to be decided environmental education component of the program in September

Sewa Maryland LEAD Volunteers would be collecting non-perishable food items for donating to the local food banks and pantries. Each LEAD volunteer can get maximum 4 hours per month.

Sewa Harvesting Hope: Empowering Communities through Sustainable Gardening and Nutrition! Kiddie Keep Well Camp was established in 1924 to provide "fresh air" experiences to underprivileged children with tuberculosis in Middlesex County. Since its inception, the camp's objective has been to promote physical health, social interaction, self-esteem, mental well-being, and fundamental life skills through a holistic approach. In addition to its primary objectives, the camp offers activities that bridge generational divides, bringing together both elderly and young campers seeking to establish social bonds among seniors while also encouraging physical exercise through entertaining and health-related activities. Kiddie Keep Well Camp has provided impoverished children and older citizens in Middlesex County, NJ, with a safe and health-oriented camping experience for many years. The Sewa event at Kiddie Keep Well Camp focuses on solving food insecurity through community involvement and sustainable approaches, which are critical for building resilience and forging unity. This transformative event has the potential to greatly improve the lives of marginalized people while also creating a healthier, more equitable food system via the integration of sustainable gardening practices with concepts of service and communal engagement.

The Sponsor-a-Child webinar to LEADS is to introduce them about this program so that they can do activities in summer to raise funds to support this program.

Sponsor-a-Child provides financial support to the financially-challenged child to complete the school education. The sponsorship program is meant for the school students from class 1 to 12, unable to bear the cost of education.

The webinar is from 9-10 pm. The check-in starts 15 minutes earlier.

Sewa International, Maryland Chapter, in collaboration with Howard County Recreation and Parks (HCRP), invites you to volunteer at an environmental stewardship activity at Troy Park, Elkridge. Help the HCRP, Natural Resource Volunteer Corp control invasive vines! We will be cutting vines from native trees to help our ecosystem. Bring along family members, friends, and neighbors to volunteer in this noble cause to help our planet Earth. Free T-shirts, snacks, and water will be provided.

Each volunteer needs to use his/her email address to register separately, not a family email address.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult (Age: 8+)

- Please bring refillable water bottle, wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and long pants, and bring gloves if you have them. They will be provided otherwise.

- We will be cutting vines in the woods so sunscreen and bug repellent are recommended.

- We will provide the skills and tools.

- There is no inclement weather date

Lets cleanup together the highway patch adopted by the Sewa International.

*** Event restricted to 16 Years and above only *** Sewa North Jersey has partnered with Denville Township to clean up and repair at McCarter Park on Bloomfield Ave. The recent flooding in the area has left some debris on the pathways there and we can use some help fixing the paths.

Sewa International has partnered with Living Arroyos for this event.Volunteers will help remove trash at Robertson Park, cleanup a riparian habitat, and learn about the restoration work that Living Arroyos has been doing. Tools will be provided for the cleanup project.

Learn about environment restoration by planting milkweeds, wildflowers and ferns. Improve meadow services by controlling non-native plants to increase bio-diversity and transplant smaller pawpaw tres.

Temple Beth Ahm: "Beth Ahm," known as the "House of the People," serves as the heart of the community, uniting individuals spiritually and socially. "Gan Tikvah," or the "Giving Garden," stands as a beacon of hope, fostering a Community Food Security Project where locally grown produce is donated to support local food pantries. Sewa International, in collaboration with Temple Beth Ahm, invites volunteers to participate in an AmeriCorps service event! Join us as we unite under the values of 'Truth and Faith' for a Community Food Security Project centered around Sustainable Gardening. Together We Serve Better!

This will be a great opportunity to learn about the current farming practices and the innovations needed to feed our world. This is a collaboration with the City of Fishers and we will be maintaining and adding new items into the garden located at this vegetable garden in Fishers.

Join Sewa in enhancing a local Community Garden. The project involves cleaning the current green space, planting and mulching. We will also have a speaker session about creating your own compost pile. Please bring your friends and family and let us make a greener world together.

Sewa International Indianapolis Chapter is collaborating with HTCI for a tree mulching event. We will maintain and add new mulch to trees at the HTCI garden in Indianapolis.

Join us for an impactful event that blends remembrance with community involvement and environmental care. A Memorial Day Flag Raising ceremony offers a heartfelt tribute to those who served and sacrificed for our nation, and Oak Tree Pond Historic Park provides a fitting backdrop, imbuing the occasion with solemnity and historical significance. By coupling this ceremony with a Sewa Eco-Tour and park conservation efforts, we not only pause for reflection but also foster environmental consciousness and a deeper connection to nature. Together We Serve Better!

Volunteers will receive a brief educational lesson on climate-smart farming practices and learn how to steward the land in an environmentally sustainable way at the Freetown Farm of Community Ecology Institute (CEI). They will also tend to produce plants. Freetown is the host site that teaches people how to sustainably garden and where the organization grows produce for local food pantries.

We will be rebuilding this community garden operated by SHIM. Work will involve organizing garden beds, laying landscaping fabric, fixing fencing, installing watering system, filling raised beds and seeding.

Join us to learn and participate in improving natural habitats and controlling invasive species, increasing native plant biodiversity, and restoring healthy soils.

In collaboration with the Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, Sewa International Indianapolis Chapter will be apart of the Weed Wranglers event. We will be picking invasive plants and weeds from the park and cleaning it up. We look forward to seeing you there!
